A long, tired, weekend...

This weekend was anything but boring... But, incredibly not eventful.. I would have given anything for it to have been boring or eventful. No, instead I spent the entire weekend - from Friday at about 1pm - Sunday at 3pm) not doing anything - sick as a dog with the flu. Not to think that on Sunday at 3pm I was better, but no... then I had to go to work and be sick at work from 3-10.. that was just a blast... and then work today... at least now Im not flu-sick anymore. I just have the congestion. But, man, the congestion is awful!!! I can barely breathe sometimes.. And teaching like this... Isnt that just great! Such a wonderful experience..

Though, for being sick - the weekend wasnt so bad.. I spent it with my sweetheart - who is also sick.. Who, by the way, is the one that got me sick.. But, he took care of me, no matter how moody I got from being sick - he always stayed sweet. Though, I only got moody a few times.

Today, quarter 3 started so I got my new set of students. I think they will be really good this quarter - at least I hope they are.. We will see.. the first day can be deceiving.. lol. I guess we will see what is to come.

Weekend Recall...

The weekend, oh so very exciting.. Well, not in "oh my god, you'll never guess what happened", but it was still good. I work Friday night until 10:00pm. Around 6, it started snowing outside. wonderful. After work, I had planned on driving to Ixonia to spend the weekend with Steve. Now there was going to be snow, and that meant icky driving. Oh well, the snow continued. 7, 8, 9, still snowing.. 10pm, and time for me to leave. I call steve, but just get his voicemail. Then, like a dummy, I forgot to turn my phone off of silence. So, when Steve calls back, he just gets my voicemail - he got a little worried - what a sweetheart, but I felt really bad. Ifinally realized it, and called him back, and then he called me back (I have free incoming calls), and his mom was on 3 way - oh how I love 3 way. especially, when you dont know you are on 3 way until like 5 min. into the conversations. oh well. SO, im driving in the snow, on roads that arent plowed, talking on my cell phone. Okay, that is a feat that I do not recommend doing. Not at all. Alright, so the 45 min drive ended up taking me 80 min to get to my destination. Tried watching "Before Sunset" with Steve - both fell asleep. Steve about 10min into it, me about 10 min later. I finished watching it on Saturday - I do not recommend it. I thought it was dumb.

Saturday.. Saturday.. Saturday.. Im not really sure where the time went on Saturday. Woke up, watched some movies. Took a nap and piddled around for a bit while Steve was gone. Watched Steve attempt to fix a snowmobile for an hour or a little over. To my disappointment, it didnt work, so I didnt get to go out with him. I was a little bummed, okay - a lot bummed, over that fact. Oh well.. that evening, went to WalMart. Wanted to buy some scrapbooking stuff.. Got a really cool scrapbook fro $8. What a steal, some page refills, a paper pack, and a rolling adhesive - one of the greatest inventions in the world. Okay, so, then we went back to Steves and were going to watch "The Eye". Yeah, it sounds really good, all scary. Put it in, and what do you know. Its in cantonese with english subtitles.. We did our best to get it in english, but there was no hope. So, went to Family Video and ended up watching "Day after tomorrow". That was super good.

Yesterday, Sunday, relaxed and enjoyed the last day with my baby. Was there until a little after 2. I have to work at 4, at Family Video until 10:00. Then, called Steve up and guilt tripped him into coming and staying with me. What a sweetheart, because he did.. He packed up and came to see me. Got here around 11:20.. What a good sport.

Now, Im sitting here with my group of students. They are taking their finals this week, so it is not a very productive week for me. Oh well, I have 5 of them taking their math final with me right now. So, far, they seem to be doing okay. Who knows what they are really writing on their paper though.

I think I am starting to get sick. I am all congested and kinda "whoo, whoo" in the head. Not really light headed, but airy. I dont know how else to describe how I am feeling. I just know i am not looking forward to working from 6pm-close (which is 1:00am) tonight. It is going to be tough.

I will write more tomorrow, there are finals again, so my student population will be lacking.

I am leaving in an hour to go and have lunch with Steve. First, I have to find his work. That could be an amazing feat in itself. I hope I dont get lost, its not in the best part of town.

College Memories (freshman year)

There really hasnt been anything new since I posted yesterday. So, I am going to do a small review of the past day, and then recall some small memories from my college years.. *sigh*

I got home yesterday a little afer 3 from work, and took a shower... Steve got home while I was in the shower... Got dressed.. Watched American Idol from Tuesday nights. Thanks to the wonders of DVR, the 2 hour show took about 1 hour and 10 min to watch... went to the grocery store, made some dinner (it was yummy - chicken and vegetable stuff with biscuits on top).. Then, American Idol from 7-8.. I wonder when I watch that show, "what is wrong with you people". I mean, come on, they cant seriousely think that they can sing.. and if they do.. Then, I dont know.. They're dumb.. Its just that simple. After American Idol, spent lots of time surfing the internet with Steve - mainly looking at rotten.com ... No comments needed about that website.. We all know the interesting and disgusting stuff that can be found on that site. Then, just spent the rest of the evening with Steve.. Now, I am at work and my students are crazy. I am not sure why. I would guess full moon - but I dont think there is one tonight... They are just swearing up a storm and calling each other names and complaining about stuff.. I actually had to send one student out because she got so out of hand - geez! Tonight I work from 7-close (while means I will be there until 1:00am again).. Oh joy.. Then, tomorrow, teach from 7:30 until 2:30ish.. and then work at the video store from 3-10. Busy day tomorrow too.. I cant wait for the weekend..

Okay, some random memories from college (these are all from freshman year)- this for now is just a list, will go into detail on topics in future:
  • Meeting Hannah and thinking she was a space hog on the first day of move-in freshmen year..
  • Deborah was at college to find a man
  • Shane Minor dancing on the ceiling when we opened our door
  • Post-it note wars.
  • Making a play pen out of 2 of our beds and then having the 3 of us sleep in it.
  • Singing "Its a Love Pig" from the top bunk
  • People thinking Hannah and I were twins
  • Sara and Becky
  • Noodle!!
  • You have to talk about sex if you are sitting on the other side of the plants
  • Doing laundry at 2:00am with Hannah
  • The water boys at Ma Fischers
  • Nice Shoes
  • Almost going to Chicago with Andy, Nick and the bus-in kids (big no-no)
  • Kissy man sits on Hannah's trunk
  • The jingle we wrote/sang for the Scott Johnson show and was actually used on the radio...
  • Matt stuck the key in my cigarette lighter
  • Open butt day
  • Earl - the rubber chicken

Enough memories for now.. there are so many more... but, i dont want to embarrass myself - or anybody else for that matter.. Some of these have inside meanings, some funny, and some I just love..

20 Questions

Okay, so I was surfing the net and found this 20 questions game that you play against the computer. Everytime I played the computer guessed what my item was within the 20 guesses... So, visit the 20 Questions game.. You will be amazed....

In other news... There really isnt any... Isnt that sad.. Im working normal hours now at Family Video - which is interesting at times. Last night I worked from 6:00pm until close (which was 1:00am).. and then came back home.. At that point, most normal people would have went to bed.. NOO.. not me.. i had to stay up and watch the American Idol that I DVR'd... Though, I was very disappointed. The first round of auditions was not very good.. Though, that weird girl at the end - with the voices - what was she thinking. So, I got to bed around 2:30.. and woke up at 6:20... What wonderful sleep.. Now, Im at work, and Im actually doing really well - I am not tired at all..

The past week hasnt been to eventful. I havent really taught at all - I took 2 sick days in the past week, had one day off for holiday and then the weekend. So, I got to spend a lot of time withe Steve which was really good.. That boy makes me really happy - and brings out the best in me.. Which I think is something that you need when you are dating somebody. I just hope he can say the same..

Well, thats enough for now.. I need to go and be productive at work..

The snow was fun - while it lasted...

Its been a few days since I have updated what is happening lately in the life of Sarah. Well, lets see.. Today has not been very eventful. There are a lot of students gone today. Im not exactly sure for the reason, but I am guessing it is because the weather is a little questionable. These students will find any excuse to not come to class. The students that are here – are working very well. We are getting a lot accomplished. But, again, I think that is because there are fewer students. That allows for more one on one time and focusing on individual students.

Last night I went to Grafton to hang out with Katie. That girl never ceases to amuse me. I picked her up and we went to dinner at some restaurant in Saukville. Katie just got her tongue pierced, so watching her try to eat was a riot in itself. Then, we went to the Ozaukee Humane Society and looked at cats. I want to get a cat. But, I don’t want to get one from the humane society, because they call your landlord. Then, I am going to have to pay the $100 deposit for an animal right away, and I don’t want to do that. So, Im going to try and find one through the paper. Who knows what will end up happening with that.

Monday night I watched “Without a Paddle” and “The Village”. Both were good. Then, had to go and return them to Family Video because their actual release date was yesterday. That is one of the perks of working at Family Video – renting movies for free, before they are officially released; and then the rest of my rentals are ½ off…. I am not going to complain.

This past weekend, I was at Steve’s for most of the time. Ended up going out by him on Friday night at about 11:30pm. I wasn’t going to go until Saturday, but talked to him after I got off of work from Family Video on Friday and he asked if I wanted to go snowmobiling with him. I said yes, and then thought about calling him back. Before this weekend, I had been on a snowmobile once in my life and for a time span of about 5 minutes. I don’t think that counts. So, I got to Steve’s we went out from like midnight to 1:30am. I only freaked out a couple times riding with him, but overall, I think I did rather well. Saturday, I actually drove around a lake myself a few times – big, big step for me. I have this fearing of running into something, or tipping over. But, I did it without incident. And, to tell you the truth, I actually liked it. Though, if anybody asks me, I am not going to admit to that. Lol.

Enough for now, I have students in a couple of minutes and I need to get this posted.

Should have been a snow day..

Hello all... I am writing from work. Sitting inside the school building, while it is still snowing like mad outside. Not to mention we got about 8 inches (if not more) last night. Today, SHOULD have been a snow day. Should have been a day with no class. But, seeing that we go by MPS standards, we trudged through the snow and here I sit. You see, MPS never cancels school. The reason for this - childcare. If school was cancelled, where would all the kids go. HS is not a big problem (which is why we kinda get the shaft), but elementary kids are. No school, no childcare and kids get left home alone. So, they dont cancel school. The funny part is. I think we have maybe 25 students that came to school today. First hour, I had to take the other math teachers class, and there was 1 student. Out of a class of 25, there was 1. So, we went down the hall to watch "Bruce Almighty" with another class, where there were 3 students. I think this is just ridiculous. I am actually leaving today early. I dont have any students today, and where I work, we have to park on the road. When I got here, a car about 30 feet from where I parked had smacked into a parked car. Let me tell you, I was NOT real comfortable about leaving my car on the road parked. (There are only reserved parking spaces by the building for a few teachers, and they are given by seniority). There is only one lane of snow plowed on the road - and I dont know that I would even call it plowed. Maybe just pushed aside! So, I am leaving around 11:00. I just dont want my car on the road. I saw one accident and I dont want another. Plus, I dont want to be in the afternoon traffic coming back home. So, I thought.. I have lots of sick leave. I will just take half a day off today and go home early. Maybe nap, watch a few movies, clean my apt, etc. Who knows what I will all end up doing. But.. oh well..

What else can I update you on? Hum.. Last night I made this lemon chicken stuff. Oohh. it was terrible. Not terrible because I messed it up, but terrible because I obviousely do not like lemon flavored chicken and rice. Oh well. Now I know for the future! I can still taste that lemon stuff when I think about it.. YUCK! It gives me the shivers! lol. Oh well.

Lets see.. hum... I do really like when it snows. Im looking out my window right now, and it is super pretty out. Too bad, that snow makes the roads to bad and then everybody drives like an idiot. People need to realize that they just need to be careful.

I was watching the news last night, and there was a kangaroo around the milwaukee vicinity somewhere. I am not exactly sure where, or how it got. But, I thought that was hilarious. I mean, how does a kangaroo get to southeastern WI? They have NO idea where it came from, or how it got here. But, they caught it last night after cornering it in in barn, and they took it temporarily to the local zoo. Whether it stays there or not, I guess depends if they can find out where it came from.

While we are on the subject of weird animals.. Here's a question for you all. When I was in college, we always said a phrase from a movie, but nobody ever knew what movie it was from.. Why we said the phrase, or how it started, I have no idea. But, we did... and i think it stuck just because nobody knew where it was from. If you know what movie it is from.. let me know.. here it is.. WHERE IS THIS MOVIE/TV PHRASE FROM:
"Maybe the dingo ate your baby?"
Anybody have any idea where that is from?
Anyways, I gotta close for now. More at a later date....

Happy New Years!!!

Hello all. I am going to get back to my normal posting schedule.. so, i should be telling my stories on a more regular basis... I would like to have a lot to write, but there's not a lot that I want to share.. New Years Eve was really good.. at elast until about 12:30.. then, it kinda went downhill, but Im not going to write about that, because I dont want to remember that.. For those that know me.. the afte 12:30 excitement caused me to write - you all know what me writing means.. its never a good thing.... Though, I didnt have my notebook - so I used a post it pad and used the ENTIRE pad.. Those of you that dont know me.. i write to relieve stress.. I write, vent how I am feeling, but then throw it away. Normally, 99% of the way, nobody ever reads what I have written.. I guess that is a good thing..

What else? I had my first day at Family Video on Thursday. It went really good. I think I will really enjoy working there.. I work again on Monday and then on Friday and probably on Saturday. (Hannah, I need to talk to you about this - b/c this is when we were supposed to get together - But, I think they scheduled me for training with the district manager that day).

So, I am sitting home, all alone tonight. Bored as can be. What a horrid way to start the new year. And it is NOT even 7pm yet.. what the heck is up with that?? I am watching a "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" marathon. I think that may be a low point. I like the show, but to watch a marathon? come on now Sarah.

Alright, time to review Christmas and birthday gifts - these are a few of my favorites:
  • Scrapbook organizer case- a really nice one on wheels..
  • Suede blanket
  • Digital Camera
  • CD's - Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Gary Allan, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith
  • Smoothie Maker
  • pictures of my family
  • okay, there's a lot.. ill mention more later..
