Facebook and whatnot else....

It has been a while since i updated this - I figure it is about time. There is not a whole lot new in the life of Sarah.

The big news, I am going to visit Hannah tomorrow. We are going to meet for lunch in Lake Geneva. It seems to be the logical point - its about an hour drive for both of us. Fun fun.

Bon Jovi countdown : 8 days to go. I got here this morning and Heidemarie was doing a little "its my life" dance while singing the song. Our students thought she was a little crazy (I do believe).

I have recently discovered the wonderful world of Facebook (Thanks to Hannah). I am pleased with this for one main reason - most of my college friend are on it. Honestly, I had lost contact with most of them. It is the dreaded graduating and moving to some odd, far off place. Whereas, I stayed here. i fell in love with Milwaukee... But, i guess im lucky. I love what I do. I love my students and I love the people that I work with. If you got here from my profile on facebook, leave me a little note. Id love to know that you were here..

It is finally the end of 2nd quarter, or semester 1, however you want to break the year done. (technically its done next week, but we only have 2 days of finals and then no studetns Wed-Friday). But, i have realized that I am half done with the school year. Yay.. another 19 weeks or so and i will have 3 months off.. Though, i do need to take a class this summer.. but i think I am going to do one of the week long classes where you go every day from like 8-4.. that way, its done in a week and i dont have to worry about it. I just need to start thinking about my relicensing. (cant you just feel the excitement)..

Remodeling Update:

Yesterday our landlords finally had a guy come in and take care of the mold we had in our closets (I am not going to go into detail of what all got ruined from being in the closet with the mold). He ripped all the walls out of both closets (bedroom and living room). We have drywall dust everywhere.. Our house is a mess.. FILTHY... But, finally, we will have a decent house. We are also getting a new roof and new windows. .I want to sing a song of joy right now. The guys comes back today and does the sheetrock and then finishes it in a couple weeks after the roof is done. Our bathroom is finally done except the new sink/vanity need to be hooked up to the water supply. .But, then we are done. I can see it all coming together and I love it. The past month has been hell in the house. .Hectic, dirty, and just overall.. not a good livng condition...

It sucks when...

you hear some news in a nutshell from one of your best friends.. BECAUSE : I want the whole scoop and am going to go crazy until i get it now!! ARG!!!!

The bathroom post..

As of last night at about 10:00pm I finally had a toilet back in the bathroom. This is a big deal, since there had been no toilet since Sunday at about 2:00pm. We ended up having the use Eric's bathroom downstairs - which led me to discover that I really dislike having to use somebody else's bathroom like that. (we still have no sink in the bathroom). You see, out bathroom was a dump. Everything leaked, so the floor was rotting, and just overly disgusting. The landlords were not crazy about fixing it because of the cost of it all - but it needed to be done. So, Steve volunteered to take on the job. Our landlords are paying for all materials and Steve's time. (Next month's rent check should be really small!!) Steve and I went off to Home Depot and bought everything we needed - $200 worth of needed stuff. He is replacing the floor completely, retiling, new vanity/sink, etc. Its going to be really nice, and I look forward to it being completed something fierce.

Now, if we can only get them to fix the walls so we stop the wetness problem... The story seems to never end..

New babies: miniature pinschers...

Steve's mom just had baby puppies again. .Congratulations to Molly (thats the mommy dog). She had 4 puppies - unfortunately one did not survive. But, there are still 3 going strong. See the picture. They are now about 3-4 inches long (soooo tiny).

Bon Jovi Opening Act

I was kinda hoping for Sugarland (the lead singer does the Duet with Bon Jovi). I know they are doing a few dates together in January and February. But, I have recently discovered that the opening act is going to be a local band. The radio station 94.5 is doing auditions/try-outs for it right now. So, if you are interested, have your band send a demo or mp3 to 94.5 immediately. I guess we will hear the best on January 28th. I shouldnt be surprised by this, the same thing was done at the concert in Madison a couple months ago!
