Apartment Approved and etc.

I got the call from the apartment lady on Tuesday saying that we for sure have our unit. Its a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apart (1200 sq feet) with 2 underground parking spots. It is also on the 1st level which is what i really wanted because then I can go and sit outside and tie Zoey up with me and let her run/play outside for a bit. If we werent on the first floor, there would only be a balcony and taking her outside would be more of a challenge. This way too, when she has to go potty I just have to go out the screen/sliding doors. We (dave and I) go to look at our actual unit on Tuesday and then put down $100 to secure it. I am very excited! I will post pictures of it as soon as possible.

On another note, we are down to 6 days left of school. 3 days of classes and 3 days of finals. I cant believe that we are almost done already.

Tomorrow there are about 11 of us (GV staff) plus some of the family members going to the Brewers game after work. A good chunk of us are meeting at school at 5 and then taking the school van there so we end up together and dont all have to pay the $8 to park. We are going to tailgate; which should be really good since we are almost all bringing some sort of food - there should be a plethra of abundance of eatible items. *yum, yum*. then, in to watch the game. Im very excited.

Hum.. that actually may be it for a while. Not really anythign else to update you on. So, I will close and continue on with me day!

11 Days Left

I guess I never realized that teachers counted down the days until the end of school too. At least i didnt until I actually became a teacher. Then, my first year I thought maybe I was the only one counting down until summer break. But, no - I believe that all the teachers here are counting the days until summer vacation, and every one of them can tell you that there are only 11 days left. 1 of which is our field day when we take them to a park and do a cook out and games. 3 of which are finals. So, technically I guess we only have 7 more days of teaching with the students. Wow - thats not very many, but it will go slow enough.

Why does postage need to go up today??

Here I am all ready to mail out the applications for the new apartment and my car payment this month. I was on my way to work this morning when I realized that today is the day that postage goes up to 41 cents. So, here I sit with two envelopes all ready to go out, missing 2 cents. Which means, after work I will be trudging to the post office to buy 4 cents worth of stamps. Probably more, because Dave has a bunch of 39 cent stamps at his house (where i happened to have gotten mine). So, I will pick up a few more to accomdate the stamps he has at his house (at least a some of them).

Otherwise, I am at work today, but we dont have any students. Im not exactly sure what Im going to do all day. I have a Graduation presention from 1-2pm, but besides that - I will be biding my time. Im sure I will find stuff to do - it just seems to be a really long day now that I dont have students to entertain me all day. Oh well.. Time to start to be productive.

The weekend

Despite my normal non-exciting life, my weekend was actually really busy.

On Friday our school had prom. I believe, that for the most part, our students had a really good time. I think we ended up with about 40 students - which was pretty good. They danced, ate and socialized. Plus, we had some returning January grads come back for prom - which was really nice.

Saturday I woke up at 7:00 to go to my final class for my alternative education certification. We had to do our presentations - to keep them short and to the point somebody brought a timer that dinged after 2 minutes. That was the cue to wrap up. Luckily, it worked and all 20 of us had presented in 2.5 hours. Which meant, we got out of class 1 1/2 hours early! Yay for that one. Then I went home, did nothing for a while and met Deborah and Hannah at 1:00 at Red Robin for lunch. It was so good to get back together with them. We probably havent all been together for 4 years (at least). We used ot be roommates in college. At least we were our freshmen and half of our sophomore year. Then Deborah left us to move to Minnesota to go to school. But, we talked and laughed and made plans to get together for a cook out at my house on June 9th. It will be fun ! Oh, but the day was not over yet. Then, i went home and laid on the couch for a while - tried to take a nap to no avail. Watched some TV until about 7, when I got up to get ready to meet Dave, Chris and Laura. We all went out to BBC to celebrate Laura's birthday (Happy 28th Birthday!!) Her birthday was last Wednesday.. But, better late than never. It was good to go out, but I wasnt feeling very well. Im not sure what was wrong, but my stomache had that feeling where it may give out at any secord. Plus, i was nonstop hot-cold depending on who knows what. At some points I felt like I was about to pass out. But, I survived and actually had a good time.

Sunday - I woke up, Dave drove me to get my car from Chris' house. Dave slept over on Saturday and since I was the DD we left my car at Chris' and took Dave's (since i met him at Chris'). Then I went back home and did absolutely nothing all day long. I slept a little, watched Season 2, disc 2 of "House". I did some grocery shopping, nothing too stressful. It was a good day.

Now, it is back to Monday and I am back at work. My 1st hour is almost done and has gone off without a hitch. We can only hope the rest of the week goes so smoothly. Oh yeah, only 23 more days of student days!

Moving again - well, in a few months..

It has been a while since I have last posted. Im not sure why - though probably because there isnt a lot happening in the life o' Sarah.

I am counting down the days until summer break. I think I have something like 25 days left with the students. I always miss the kids during the summer, but its good to get a break for a while. I know that I will run into them on occasion and that is always interesting.

Last night I went to the Brewers game again. Only this time it was with dave, his mom and bob. Fun times. We won, 7-1. It was game number 3 for me this season. I know there are at least 2 more coming up in June and who knows how many more that are unplanned. I think baseball is funny - I am one of those people who really like baseball live, but cannot watch it on tv for the life of me. Im pretty much that way with all sports - live I can get into it - on tv, it will lost my attention immediately. I guess its the way things work.

What else? Congratulations to Hannah. She accepted a job down in Racine. That might mean that I get to see her more - and that is a BIG yay for me. On another moving note - I am going to look at an apartment today after work with Dave. I currently live with 2 roommates (one that owns that house and one that moved in in February. The one that joined us in February, drives me insane!) Well, Meghan (the one who owns the house) her boyfriend and daughter are moving into the house in fall, which means I should be out by August. It means I get the lovely job of moving again, which I really dont want to do - but i guess. Dave and I are going to have a go at living together. By the time the move comes, we will have been dating for a year.. I think thats about right.

Alright, enough writing for now. I must be productive at work, plus its almost time for lunch break.
